Valiant TMS Hiring for Quality Specialist at Windsor, ON Full Time

Core Responsibilities

· Participate in supplier evaluation, qualification and development process and provide input to manage risks related to the suppliers;

· Provide training & feedback to suppliers and lead the efforts to implement steps to continuously improve supplier performance;

· Conduct supplier audits, monitor and report on their quality performance, capabilities & communicate the results with the suppliers & Valiant TMS internal customers;

· Monitor PO releases and manufacturing priorities and follow-up with suppliers, ensure technical specifications are available and suppliers build required equipment per PO requirements;

· Coordinate with project management, procurement and manufacturing to ensure supplier provides quality product based on timing constrains and project requirements;

· Coordinate with engineering departments possible supplier proposed design changes, ensure deviations are documented and approved

· Support buy-off activities for outsourced services, processes, materials, parts and other commodities;

· Collect qualitative & quantitative supplier information & data, prepare reports focusing on compliance, conformance and effectiveness of the operations for the potential and existing suppliers;

· Manage all supplier related Non-Conformances (NCRs) for all outscored services, processes, materials, parts and other commodities, coordinate effective resolutions for all supplier related NCRs

· Collect information to determine potential root causes, issue supplier corrective actions and/or 8Ds;

· Participate in and report on the progress and effectiveness of the supplier corrective actions and continuous improvements tasks;

· Coordinate supplier returns/repairs, including shipping requests for items returning for rework, track status of returns, determine supplier CoQ, cost recovery and/or cost avoidance; and

· Maintain & improve supplier directory information, generate supplier scorecards, maintain and report out on supplier quality dashboard in an established frequency

Other

· To perform other duties as required and as directed by the Leadership;

· Has the authority and obligation to stop production in case unsafe working condition are observed; and Has the obligation to notify his or her supervisor and/or a member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee of any safety related matter requiring immediate attention.

Qualifications and Skills
· Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, candidates with sufficient technical experience in Engineering and Manufacturing disciplines will be considered;

· Minimum of 3 years of experience in Quality is preferred, manufacturing and tooling industry experience an asset;

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications;

· Knowledge of print reading, GD&T, special processes, print notes related to custom machine & tooling industry

· Familiar with welding and machining best practices

· Familiar with quality and continuous improvement tools;

· Familiar with ISO9001 and AS9100 standards;

· The ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment;

· Demonstrated leadership and team building skills, and the ability to coordinate teams across cross-functional disciplines;

· Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills a must;

· Ability to travel between all VMT locations, within Canada and USA;

· Ability to travel to supplier locations, mostly within Canada, USA and other areas possible; up to 80% of travel is possible; and

· Ability to meet CGP clearance requirements.
