Job description – Quality Inspector

VAC Developments Ltd is a growing Canadian Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing Company in a clean, air conditioned facility and we are looking for a Quality Inspector to join our Quality Department.

Responsibilities:

· Perform in-process, first-off audit, and final inspection of precision machined components and assemblies.

· Use Keyence IM-7000 optical measurement system as your primary inspection instrument. Training will be provided as required.

· Use various mechanical inspection equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, and thread gages for inspection.

· Responsible for documenting non-conformances on appropriate forms.

· Notify appropriate personnel of potential rejection of items.

· Troubleshoot inspection problems related to fixtures, software, drawings, paperwork, or process.

· Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department and the organization.

· Participation in solving non-conformance issues and implementing corrective actions.

· Adherence to the quality control standards.

· Participate in continuous improvement teams as required.

· Document finished product status and update quality assurance data base.

· Participate in safety and OSHA training.

· Work in an organized manner with attention to details.

· Perform other duties as required.

Required Skills and Experience:

University degree or College Diploma in related field is preferred with 3 years’ experience in Quality or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Preferred background in aerospace and defense industry

Experience with quality manufacturing system and understanding of specifications, gauge certification, capability analysis, data and defect analysis, variance reduction, etc.

• Proficiency in using a wide variety of precision measuring instruments (i.e. micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.).
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical specifications.
• Ability to read blueprints including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing, and analyze and interpret technical procedures.
• Intermediate knowledge and experience using MS Office (Excel, Word).
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions related to quality issues.
