Our client is a leading private renewable energy company focused on acquiring and operating hydropower projects, now expanding into new technologies like solar and battery storage. They believe investing in renewable energy is critical to building a low-carbon economy and their current platform includes 85 hydropower plants in 18 states with a combined capacity of more than 680 megawatts, generating 250 million megawatt-hours annually. They have doubled the size of our portfolio over the past several years and expect to continue growing over the next five years through investments that provide compelling returns and protect future generations from a changing climate.
The Team:
We are a nimble team committed to playing a role in changing our energy landscape. Across the fleet, the engineering team is responsible for providing technical support, finding new opportunities, and driving innovation. Our team investigates problems, designs solutions, oversees implementations, and explores new technologies. We collaborate constantly and value a collective approach to problem-solving. Our team members have a diverse set of experiences and love to create and innovate. We get our hands dirty and excel at moving quickly.
What We Seek:
You have experience working on controls systems and have demonstrated an ability to design, program, and commission control systems. You create excellent documentation and work closely with the operators who use your systems in the field. You are excited about modern control methods and are eager to leverage new technologies to drive value across our portfolio. You like to get your hands dirty and are as comfortable writing code as you are turning a screwdriver. You crave the freedom to realize your design vision and are excited to explore innovative solutions. You are capable of managing projects and have been successfully delivering projects on time and on budget.
The Role:
You will take ownership of selected controls projects. Your role will include designing new systems, developing PLC code and HMI displays, creating one-line and control drawings, working with vendors to fabricate panels, selecting instruments, and commissioning new systems. You’ll work closely with our operators in the field and assist in troubleshooting issues with existing systems. You will have the freedom to exercise your design vision and demonstrate your skills through key projects.
