Admissions Coordinator
Salary: £31,615 – £36,110 (Grade 7) Subject to role evaluation
UWC Atlantic is the founding College of the UWC global education movement. Its home is the beautiful 12th Century St Donat’s Castle in South Wales, where students from over 90 countries come for two years to live and work together in a dynamic learning landscape.
UWC is a deliberately diverse, mission-driven international college with a strong commitment to the educational principles of Kurt Hahn, its founder, and a passionate belief in the importance of education as a force for good in the world – to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future.
Since 1962, UWC has entrusted students with authentic responsibility and guided them to make appropriate choices and to learn from their mistakes.
UWC empowers bridge-builders, systems changers and compassionate global citizens through the delivery of a pioneering and distinctive IB (International Baccalaureate) educational model.
UWC’s student body is hugely diverse (from around 90 countries every year) based on its ability to reach out across the globe to attract and encourage new students from vastly differing political, religious, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. These inspirational young people, the next generation of leaders, are drawn from among the most marginalised groups of today’s world and the most privileged. Students are selected on their promise and potential to create impact in the fields of sustainability, social justice and peace. The College offers one of the most comprehensive scholarship programmes available at pre-University level, with 50% of students receiving financial support.
The Philanthropy, Engagement and Partnerships team engages our community wherever they are, to share their time, treasure and talent, and strengthen UWC Atlantic’s offering for current and future generations of change-makers.
Through the support of alumni and friends, we have been able to significantly increase our scholarship provision, innovate within the teaching curriculum, and enhance the learning environment that our students and community benefit from.
2022 marks our 60th anniversary and we intend to significantly increase our external communication activities and outcomes to launch us into the next 60 years on an even stronger footing. The admissions team will play a key role in this effort, by developing a strong link with our network of National Committees and promoting the college with our current and new networks.
This is a key role at the College, where you will be supporting the team in all aspects of student recruitment and the admissions process; including coordinating offers of places at UWC Atlantic to over 160 National Committees around the world, student enrolments, supporting the organisation of/attending open days and supporting with the application of student visas.
As Admission Coordinator you will have excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels, experience of data input and reporting, as well as good working knowledge of IT systems. This wide-ranging role will include keeping administration up to date, planning events, maintaining our database, carrying out market research and producing reports as required
