Job description

UW Provision is a family-owned, regional wholesale food distributor specializing in meat products since 1958 in Middleton, WI. UW Provision is looking for an Accounting Assistant join our accounting team! This individual will work closely with other office staff to assist with day-to-day accounting tasks within Accounts Receivable, Customer Service, Sales, Inventory, and records compliance. We’re looking for an energetic individual that can bring more organization and support to our daily operations.

Responsibilities:

• Support all areas of the accounting team with an emphasis on Accounts Receivable and Customer Service; daily interaction with customers to accept payments and assist with their questions about their account; answering and directing telephone calls received
• Process daily paperwork created from delivery routes which includes payments from customers, sort, and channel information to appropriate departments
• Communicates with all department in the company to efficiently transmit information regarding daily business matters; assist Sales and Credit Department to ensure customer accounts are accurate and staying within credit terms
• Provide backup assistance to Accounts Payable and Inventory during heavy workload times, end of the month close and/or during vacation schedules, work experience with accounting and financial transaction working within a computerized accounting system

Qualifications:

• 2- 4 years of accounting experience/bookkeeper; Associates degree in accounting or related field is desired
• Experienced in accounting and financial transactions while working within an accounting system; QuickBooks, Accpac, Accuterm knowledge is plus
• Computer skills in MS Office/(Excel), operate office equipment (telephone system, fax, printers), comfortable multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks without guidance
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving and communication skills
• Punctual with strong attendance history
