Useppa Island is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to live and work on Useppa Island. This position is only for an Experienced Sous Chef. Candidates without experience as a Sous Chef will not be considered for this role. This position is hands-on and you will be expected to work every position on the line when needed (including the dish pit and running trash). You will report to the Head Chef and the Food and Beverage Manager. We do a lot of service in a short period of time so it is essential that our leaders possess a great work ethic and leads by example and with the right temperament. Please understand, you will be required to work 40-50 hours per week. Communication Skills are imperative.
This position is a live-on position–a one bedroom, one bathroom apartment is offered with full utilities for $350/mo (paycheck deductible). Island Employees get full use of Club Amenities including kayaks, paddleboards, bicycles, hot tub, pool (heated), fitness center, pool lounge and tennis courts at no cost. After 90 days you will receive full benefits including a 401k plan opportunity. As you prove value you will have the opportunity to earn a higher pay and additional bonuses.
Useppa Island Club is on a bridgeless island in southwest Florida. There are no cars on the Island. Members and employees park their vehicles in the Club Marina Lot (Bocilla Marina) and take the Club Launch to and from the Island when needed (no cost to employees).
