USAA Hiring for Product Management – Consumer Payments Executive at Windcrest, Texas Full Time

Purpose of Job

This Consumer Payments Executive will lead cross-functional teams of payments professionals, focused on developing and delivering seamless money movement solutions to our members. Specific areas of accountability include: Wires, Funds Transfer, Internal Bill Pay within USAA entities, Zelle Person to Person Payments, Connected Accounts to cover internal and external accounts, such as via Open Banking Account Aggregation. Responsible for creating and executing against a strategic roadmap for the future of member money movement, including a modernized Payments Hub and Real Time Payments as examples. Leads and partners collaboratively with Marketing, Finance, Risk Management, Legal, Information Technology, Operations and the Distribution Servicing groups to deliver an industry leading payments product offering that meets Member needs and drives profitability.

Job Requirements

• Identifies and leads existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role
• Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled
• Follows written risk and compliance policies, standards, and procedures for business activities
• Leads the P&L and supports efforts to ensure business plan expectations are achieved with a focus on growing Membership and driving profitability
• Reviews and manages the product set (feature/functionality) for appropriateness of financials, marketing strategy, market competitiveness, Member Experience, regulatory compliance, risk management, as well as efficiency of operation and technology delivery
• Accountable for ensuring applicable regulations related to product line of business are adhered to and associated risks are mitigated
• Role models USAA’s mission, core values, culture and desired behaviors – including a sound risk and compliance culture
• Develops talent to deliver risk-conscious performance and results – including the identification, development and retention of talent with requisite capabilities, banking regulatory skill requirements and continued advancement of banking regulatory standards
• Partners with General Manager to develop and provides product performance reporting to senior management that is inclusive of USAA’s performance as well as industry benchmark data
• Works collaboratively with key partners to deliver an industry leading product offering that drives strong profitability growth across USAA
• Optimizes product mix, using segmentation to drive profit, Member satisfaction, and retention
• Manages plan for growing products through the creation and implementation of an effective segmentation strategy, including product profitability, service standards, and lifecycle management
• Holds responsibility for communicating the product value proposition to Distribution organization
• Ensures product team delivers sales support to all distribution channels (e.g., .com, mobile, contact center) so that the product is properly positioned to customers (sales tool and collateral development, sales training, etc.)
• Manages 3rd Party Relationships (IT, 3rd products, and alliances)

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Statistics, or related discipline OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree
• 10+ years of relevant experience as a Product Management, Digital Transformation, Data Science or Visualization leader for products/platforms, from strategy to market, to ongoing improvements within the Financial Services industry
• 4+ years of people leadership experience in building, leading and/or developing impactful teams
• Understanding of product P&L and high level of fluency in MV (member value) and ROI drivers; proven track record in balancing product priorities against budget and timelines; a sense of urgency in driving execution; passion and excitement of developing products from an early stage
• Highly analytical with experience bringing to bear different types of data to form hypotheses, test those hypotheses and ultimately build a recommended strategy
• Strong strategic thinker with track record of developing and implementing strategies that thoughtfully consider and balance industry and competitive dynamics, customer insights and commercial implications
• Comfort with ambiguity and a constantly evolving dynamic environment; thrives in fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communications; ability to influence without authority, working on/with technical and cross-functional or highly matrixed teams who do not report into this role to get things done
• Understanding and demonstrated application of Agile methodology
• Knowledge of federal laws, rules, and regulations to include: FFIEC- Retail Payment Systems Handbook, Payment Rules (NACHA, Zelle, etc.), Reg CC, Reg E, Reg DD

Preferred Experience

• 10+ years of progressive Consumer Payments experience in a leadership capacity with depth of digital payments expertise, including: Zelle, Wires, Internal Funds Transfer, External Account Transfers, Open Banking/Aggregation; Real Time Payments experience is a plus
• Demonstrated expertise in product development, business case development, strategic planning, P&L management and tactical implementation
• Understands the role technology plays in Payments and is able to incorporate in managing product roadmaps and partnering with IT and across stakeholders to execute efficiently with the future in mind
• Payments regulatory knowledge and proven experience leading first line risk management routines; responsibilities include effective identification, mitigation, measurement, monitoring, and controls, including management of third-party relationships
• Demonstrated ability to attract, build and develop a cross-functional team of high performing payments professionals

Compensation

USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position. The salary range for this position is: $155,400.00 – 279,800.00

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.

Long Term Incentive Plan: Cash payment for Executive level roles only, representing a cash payment which is both time and performance based.
