Urban Maintenance Systems (UMS) is an Australian-owned and operated facilities maintenance and management service, provider. Our suite of services includes preventative and reactive maintenance, as well as the management of buildings, parks, gardens, and open spaces as well as major events venues and transport infrastructure. We provide services to the Government, local governments and private sector commercial organisations throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Reporting to the Group Senior Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant will be supporting the finance team and business with a range of accounting responsibilities including financial accounting and compliance functions.

Your duties will include, but not be limited to:

• Prepare and/or review monthly general ledger reconciliations for assigned accounts maintaining appropriate documentation
• Performing quarterly income tax calculations and tax installment payments
• Monthly financial and management reporting including variance analysis
• Preparation of monthly Business Activity Statements and annual Fringe Benefits Tax returns
• Various reporting including, trend analysis and other ad-hoc reporting
• Assistance with audit requirements and liaison with external auditors
• Maintaining the capital expenditure register and assisting with capital financing decisions
• Preparing weekly cash flow estimates
• Participate in the annual budget process and quarterly forecasting
• Process improvement and participation with systems upgrade occurring in next 12 months
• Developing strong stakeholder relationships across finance and the wider company

Essential requirements for this role include:

• CA/CPA qualified
• Degree in Accounting or related discipline
• Experience using Microsoft Office, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• 8 years + accounting experience
• Understanding of International Accounting Standards
• Strong data entry skills, both in speed and accuracy
• Experience providing management reports, analyzing profitability and progress against budget
• Involvement in the preparation of financial statements

The successful candidate must have a high level of planning and organising skills and the ability to work within strict time frames.
