About our School:

The Capability Systems Centre (CSC) at UNSW Canberra was set up to research the challenges of the development of capability and the acquisition of capability systems. We provide cutting edge research and assurance support for Defence, Government and Industry. We also offer comprehensive education and training services to support organisations in any domain at any stage of the capability life cycle.

About the Role:
Role: Software Developer

Salary: Level 7 $100,331 – $108,588 plus 17.4% Superannuation
Term: 3 years fixed term (with possibility of extension)
Employment type: Full time, 35hrs
Location: Canberra, ACT

The Capability Systems Centre is looking to employ a Full time Software Developer to work on a leading-edge research project on the development of dynamic and decision analytics including, simulation, optimisation, and visualisation. The position will involve coding, testing, deploying, and maintaining software, data and visualisations to support these analytics.

Our Ideal Candidate:

• Contributes to the evolution of the existing code-base in consultation with the other members of the project team
• Provides technical input to, and technical requirements for the development of models and tools primarily in Java, and Python but in other languages as required for the project
• Has excellent communication skills
• Has a passion for problem solving, and making a difference to the future of capability systems
• Enjoys working in a small team which takes pride in our flexibility and resourcefulness
• Relishes delighting our clients with insights on their data
• Highly desirable – current NV1 or above Security Clearance
