The Department of Physics is looking to appoint a UG Admissions Administrator to lead on administrative support for the recruitment of undergraduate students.

The Department of Physics is at the forefront of pioneering global research and technological advancement in our world leading research centres, focused around biophysics, condensed matter physics, nuclear physics, and plasma physics and fusion energy at the York Plasma Institute. Role

Leading the complete administrative process of UG recruitment, the role involves organising a significant number of events, including interview days, as well as taking a lead on reviewing promotional materials that are owned by the Department. There is extensive communication with applicants and prospective applicants. Reviewing and adapting processes is also important, as changing circumstances mean that events need to be delivered in different ways. The role is offered initially as a 12-month contract.

Skills, Experience & Qualification needed

• Experience of working in a varied administrative role effectively balancing competing priorities
• Experience of a student-facing or customer service role
• Experience of organising events
• A high degree of attention to detail; able to use initiative; good problem-solving skills; organised yet flexible
• Commitment to work in and contribute to an environment of change and continuous improvement
• Knowledge of student recruitment processes is desirable.
