The HR Operations team is currently seeking to appoint an HR Adviser on a part time fixed term basis until 31st May 2023. This is a customer focused generalist role reporting to the Employee Relations and Policy Manager, the successful candidate will work as part of a team of HR professionals providing strategic and operational HR solutions in support of the University’s people management agenda. You will provide a range of HR services including: employment procedure, advice and guidance, organisational development and change management.

Skills, Experience & Qualification needed
CIPD qualified, or substantial equivalent experience at professional HR level
Significant generalist experience in a large organisation dealing with complex ER issues including discipline, grievance, absence and performance management
Good, up to date knowledge of employment law and HR good practice
Understanding of contract management and associated legislation e.g. Fixed Term Employees’ Regulations
Ability to provide effective advice and support to managers leading on organisational change with regards to University policy and procedures, Trade Union consultation, communications and individual consultation
Diplomacy, influencing and persuasion skills to engage academic staff and other managers
Excellent communication and highly developed interpersonal skills
Ability to work proactively with limited guidance and to self-imposed timescales
