The department of English and Related Literature is one of the largest departments in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of York. It was ranked 1st in the Russell Groupfor overall student satisfaction in the 2021 National Student Survey and is rated Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework.
Located in the beautiful, historic city of York, the department has a richly interdisciplinary research culture, and a strong commitment to equality and diversity. With over 1000 students and around fifty members of staff, York is one of the largest and most active English departments in the country.
We are seeking a full-time Admissions Officer in the Department of English & Related Literature. This is a key role in a large department, managing the admissions process mainly for our undergraduate students, but also assisting our postgraduate administrator with postgraduate taught student admissions.
The successful candidate will be passionate about Widening Participation and will be a champion for inclusivity and equality across our admissions processes.
We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, who is able to work effectively with the central admissions team as well as the department in order to ensure excellent support for applicants. The postholder will be based in the main departmental building near the administrative team and will provide a high-quality service to applicants, parents, visitors and current students.
This post is offered as a Maternity cover from 8th August 2022 to 8th October 2023
