JOB POSTING – RESEARCH ASSISTANT

We are hiring a Research Assistant for a study that examines the public’s thoughts and opinions about cannabis. The study involves an online survey completed by participants aged 16 and over living in the Northwest Territories (ARI research license number 17320), Yukon, and Nunavut. The study is being led by Dr. Erin Hobin at Public Health Ontario and Dr. David Hammond at the University of Waterloo. The Research Assistant will be responsible for raising awareness about the research study in the community.

Title: Research Assistant

Locations: Inuvik, Northwest Territories

Responsibilities Include:
Raising awareness about the research study in the community, including:

Posting study posters at community hubs (e.g., post offices, grocery stores, college campuses, community centres)

Distributing study flyers to the public

Interacting with the public and answering questions about the study

Traveling locally within the community to designated locations

Maintaining activity logs on the distribution of study materials

Maintaining regular communication with the research team via email and virtual meetings

Pay: $24/hour + 4% vacation pay

Work Period:
Approximate 2-week period from September 11 to 22, 2023:
Part-time hours; day, evening, and weekend shifts available

Minimum of 12 hours in total (approximately 6 hours per week)

Mandatory, paid, 2-hour virtual training session on 1 day between September 5 to 8, 2023

Previous research experience is an asset
