Salary: £39,698 per annum
Full-time Permanent Position 1.0 FTE (36.5 hours per week) will consider two appointments to 0.6/0.4 FTE
The graduate-entry MBChB programme at Warwick Medical School (WMS) is the largest in the UK, attracting graduates from both science and non-science backgrounds. Its modern medical programme is delivered by a dynamic and forward-thinking team of academics and clinicians.
We are currently seeking to recruit a full time Clinical Education Fellow (CEF)
Your teaching duties are designed to increase your experience in Medical Education and assist your career development. You will teach clinical skills 2 days a week and become a trained case based learning facilitator. There will be further opportunities to become involved in virtual patients, e-learning development, assessment, personal tutoring and faculty development.
You will be enrolled on modules working towards the Certificate in Medical Education and supported to complete a small medical education project. You will be encouraged to contribute to departmental education meetings.

Job Description
Job purpose
MBChB teaching in year 1 and early year 2 is largely delivered by case based learning (CBL), with supporting lectures, seminars and practical sessions such as communication skills, anatomy and clinical skills sessions.
You will undertake a range of teaching, facilitation, supervision and assessment roles primarily working with first and second year graduate-entry medical students in support of this learning.
You will be expected to work with first year medical students attending the Gibbet Hill Campus to delivery clinical skills practical learning.
During the contract you will be developed as a group facilitator and clinical educator. You will acquire the skills and practices to support online and blended learning.

Research and Scholarship
1. Reflect on practice and the development of own teaching and learning skills.
Teaching and Learning Support
1. Teach as a member of the MBChB teaching team in a developing capacity. Specifically undertake CBL facilitation, lecture based, seminar and clinical skills teaching.
2. Develop own teaching materials, methods and approaches with guidance.
3. Identify learning needs of students and define appropriate learning objectives.
4. Ensure that content, methods of delivery and learning materials will meet the defined learning objectives.
5. Supervise the work of students, provide advice on study skills and help them with learning problems.
6. Develop your understanding of the dynamics of group work addressing specific issues and providing assistance/guidance to both groups and individuals as necessary
7. Be available to support specific topics, questions or concepts at request of individual students, subject to available time.
8. Assess the work and progress of students by reference to provided criteria and provide constructive feedback to students.
Administration and Other Activities
1. Undertake duties related to course administration, such as attendance records, etc.
2. May be expected to attend departmental meetings.
3. Act as a personal tutor in accordance with WMS policy and to University of Warwick standards.
4. Take an informal role in student pastoral care such as identification of “at risk” students and dysfunctional groups, offering support and referral to appropriate sources of help.
5. Support other clinical education fellows and mentor as appropriate. Input your skills into module running as deemed appropriate.
