We are now looking for a Lecturer in Education to join Yr Athrofa: Centre for Education at our Swansea or Carmarthen campus, on a full-time permanent basis, working 37 hours per week.

– THE ROLE –

As a Lecturer in Education, you will deliver teacher education programmes as part of the Yr Athrofa: Centre for Education.

Contributing to the development of teacher education, you will focus on supporting networks of schools and delivering our mentoring model.

You will provide teaching and student support at undergraduate and postgraduate level and offer a range of different learning environments from seminars and small group tutorials to large lectures, workshops or placements.

Additionally, you will design and develop teaching materials, supervise the work of students and offer advice, feedback, support, and encouragement.

– ABOUT YOU –

To be considered as a Senior Lecturer in Education, you will need:

• The ability to communicate fluently (spoken and written) through the medium of Welsh to a high standard
• Evidence of a contribution to education research theory and practice
• Evidence of appropriate engagement with quality assurance and regulatory requirements
• Leadership skills and experience in the field of education, and where appropriate, the ability to manage and motivate staff effectively
• Personal academic and professional credibility and achievement
• Knowledge of, and engagement with, the school and community education sector in Wales
• Evidence of coaching and mentoring skills
• An honours degree in a relevant subject
• Qualified Teacher Status
• A higher-level post-graduate qualification (Masters or above) relevant to the position, or willingness to undertake further study
