Job Summary
The Office of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action (OEO / AA) is responsible for overseeing the University’s compliance with University Policy and various state and federal regulations related to discrimination and sexual misconduct.
The OEO / AA is a resource for students, staff, faculty and other University community members who wish to and address issues of discrimination and / or sexual misconduct.
The Office Assistant will provide clerical support to intake and general office functions involving s of discrimination and sexual harassment.
The primary responsibility for this position is to work with the Supportive Measures Manager, Intake Coordinator, and other office staff to process s of alleged sexual misconduct and discrimination under Title IX and other non-discrimination laws, as defined by University policies.
The position may also provide clerical support to Equal Opportunity Consultants, the Associate Directors, and Director. Duties include scheduling meetings and interviews;
providing information about university policy; and providing referrals and resources to individuals affected by sexual misconduct and other forms of discrimination.
This position is contingent based upon continued funding and may be temporary.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
1. Be familiar with University nondiscrimination policies and associated laws and serve as a resource to students, staff, faculty, and community members seeking information related to the University’s discrimination and sexual misconduct policies.
2. Provide clerical support for OEO / AA including answering phones, taking messages, responding to emails, giving information about OEO / AA, receiving visitors to the office, and other clerical duties.
3. Assist and maintain accurate records using Salesforce, the OEO / AA case management database, including providing support for other OEO / AA staff in using Salesforce.
4. Must be able to efficiently manage a high volume of work, including phone calls, emails, meetings as part of the intake process while providing strong attention to detail.
5. Must be able to deliver services in a trauma-informed manner to a diverse university population consisting of students, staff, faculty, patients, providers, visitors, and others.
6. Must be able to exercise professional judgment, respect confidentiality of sensitive records, and maintain professionalism and neutrality
7. Must be able to clearly, concisely, accurately, and effectively communicate information in both written and verbal form.
8. Must be able to work collaboratively with other OEO Staff, campus resources and offices, and with external community resources.
Includes attending OEO / AA staff meetings and other meetings with OEO / AA partner offices.
9. Other duties as assigned. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required.
One year full-time customer service experience or equivalency, demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also required.

Preferences
Preference may be given to individuals who are bilingual (fluent in both written and spoken languages) in addition to English.
