University Information Technology (UIT) has an opening for an IT Manager position within Software Platform Services. This position manages a team of business analysts and developers responsible for supporting the intranet/employee portal services for University of Utah Health and other university departments. Support services include the design, development, and management of SharePoint sites, applications, and workflows. The position will manage budgets, implement systems, maintain policies, develop roadmaps, and guide long-term goals that support the organization’s needs. This position ensures proper functioning of related systems, oversees necessary upgrades and compliance, and collaborates closely with multiple teams, departments, customers, and stakeholders (e.g., health care providers, Nursing, senior leadership, etc.). The university community depends on these systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

WORK SCHEDULE: Full Time. M-F 8-5 with after hours

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manages the technical team responsible for providing intranet/employee portal services. Services include development and management of SharePoint sites, applications, and workflows
• Works closely with multiple teams, departments, customers, and stakeholders (e.g., health care providers, Nursing, senior leadership, etc.)
• Develops and manages budgets
• Ensures best practices and standards for the systems the team manages
• Ensures proper functioning of related systems and oversees necessary upgrades and compliance
• Develops roadmaps and cost models
• Implements and maintains policies and goals that support the organization’s IT needs
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalency and at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

• Experience leading a technical team, managing day-to-day operations, incident management, fulfillment of service requests from customers, and support for platform upgrades and project implementations
• Experience with SharePoint online/on-premises solutions including design, development, administration, and implementation
