About the vacancy: To enable the delivery of a professional student casework service by managing and conducting casework investigations across the range of the University’s student casework policies. Preparing and presenting reports and developing recommendations on complex and sensitive student cases, providing specialist advice and guidance to academic and professional staff involved in investigations, and to students and other service users, acting as a regular point of contact for senior leadership in a faculty on progress of cases and the learning arising from casework.
About you: Student and Academic Services are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the Student Casework Team. This is an exciting time to join the team and to play a part in making a positive impact for our students and across the University in line with the wider UWE strategy.
You will become an expert in the university’s Behaviour and Health Framework and Complaints and Appeals procedures. The nature of casework is such that each case will be unique, you will be comfortable working with uncertainty and incomplete information. You will be responsible for managing complex cases, investigating incidents, preparing reports, and supporting formal hearings to specified timeframes.
You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to work closely with other departments providing timely and appropriate provision of advice, guidance and support to service users. We require someone who is confident in upholding the University’s policy in a positive and constructive manner, finding the best outcomes for all service users.
We are looking for someone who has experience managing complex people centric processes and delivering outcomes within non-negotiable deadlines. You will be confident, taking ownership and accountability for your own caseload.
Ideally you will have experience of working with young people in an advice or support capacity or have a broad understanding of the context, pressures and challenges facing young people today.
