Hiring Range: $5,405.03- $6,201.54/ Monthly

JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Under the direction of the Director of the Teaching and Learning Center this position leads the operation of one of the primary instructional support units at UTHSC. Manages the facilities, the financial operations, personnel, and services of the General Education Building

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides an instructional environment that meets the programmatic needs of the academic programs, departments, divisions, colleges, and administrative units in a multi-disciplinary facility where the majority of pre-clinical instruction occurs.

Manages the staff who provide support for a variety of interdisciplinary labs.

Strategizes with ITS and TLC on most effective ways to use learning spaces to enhance student learning.

Directs the educational activities occurring in the laboratory spaces.

Monitor departmental expenses, prepare reports and business documents; communicate with each college regarding their budgets.

Works with colleges and departments to align curricular needs with resources available in lecture halls, classrooms, labs, and other learning spaces.

Oversees the supervision of personnel; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.

Develop and maintain robust metrics to track facility usage.

Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Psychology, or related area. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years of management experience (preferably in a university setting) service organization including supervision and evaluation of others. Documented experience in completing projects. Experience working in health sciences, educational, or public sector environments. OR Master’s Degree three (3) years of management experience (preferably in a university setting) service organization including supervision and evaluation of others. Documented experience in completing projects. Experience working in health sciences, educational, or public sector environments.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to manage a service organization including supervision and evaluation of others

Knowledge of and ability to plan and complete projects

Work experience in the health sciences

Skills in budget management and planning

Ability to manage learning spaces, including traditional classrooms and labs
