Your New Role

As an innovative educator-researcher with expertise in the field of Science Education and a focus on secondary schooling, this exciting new role will deliver programs in flexible, fully online, and face-to-face modes. Contributing to the development of innovative methodologies and pedagogies for teaching science in the Tasmanian context and assisting with administrative tasks to support the operation of the School of Education. In building a research portfolio that contributes to the research productivity of the School of Education, you will contribute their expertise to the intellectual life of the School, pursue external research funding, publish independently and collaboratively, supervise postgraduate students, and where appropriate, engage in consultancies and professional development. In addition, you will work with external stakeholder and community groups to build the profile of science education in Tasmania.

About the College

The College of Arts, Law and Education (CALE) provides world-class research and teaching including undergraduate and postgraduate programs at campuses in Hobart, Launceston, and Cradle Coast (Burnie), and online. Each of the three campuses has recently or is about to, move to new buildings and new centrally located campuses, each with state-of-the-art teaching and learning spaces. CALE’s mission is to develop the next generation of thinkers and professionals in education, social work, law, media, policing and justice, and the cultural and creative industries. As a strong collaborator, you will demonstrate ability to build effective relationships locally and nationally within the discipline, industry and wider community.
