Accountant

• Full time ongoing position
• Based in Hobart
• Participate in projects to improve financial management capabilities, and service delivery

The Opportunity

As a member of the CoBE finance service hub, and in consultation with the Business Partner, the role will actively engage and support in the delivery of finance requirements and support the provision of professional advice, guidance and solutions.

Key Accountabilities:

• Ensure the provision of timely and professional finance expertise, advice and support to the Budget Centre.
• Develop and maintain strong and effective communication and working relationships with relevant staff at all levels of the University.
• Assist with co-ordination and managing the preparation of the University’s annual budget for assigned Budget Centres.
• Monitor, analyse and report on financial performance.
• Participate and manage projects to improve financial management capabilities, and service delivery.

Your Application

To be successful in the role, your application will need to demonstrate;

• Completion of a relevant Degree with relevant work experience.
• Full membership or progress towards membership of an internationally recognised professional accounting body, or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education/training.
• Proven financial, analytical and commercial skills.
• Proven skills in analysing and reporting on information and proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
