WHO YOU ARE
You are an enthusiastic person looking to pursue and develop a career in finance. You might currently be studying Finance or Commerce or are already working in the sector and would like to broaden your experience.
The primary focus of this role is primarily responsible for data entry and other ad hoc support to the team. Support to the team includes but is not limited to Accounts receivable, Accounts payable, Fixed assets and General ledger maintenance. The Accounts Payable Officer is also responsible for a number of daily, weekly and monthly tasks that need to be completed within specific timelines and in accordance with business policy.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Management of the Accounts Payable function
Providing Adhoc support and assist the Finance team
Providing support to Payroll
Ensure reports are completed and accurate
YOU WILL HAVE
High level of attention to detail in all aspects of work
Proficient in the use of Windows operating systems
Proficient in the use of Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, Outlook
Ability to be flexible in hours worked
Ability to maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
Proficiency in the use of PCs, particularly accounting systems and excel.
High level written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet overlapping deadlines
Ability to work both independently and as an effective, committed, and enthusiastic team member
Organizational and time management skills
Demonstrate initiative and actively contributes to the Finance team’s goals
Desirable skills
1 year of relevant work experience in the finance field
Demonstrated experience in Microsoft suite
Understanding and experience of Student Organizations in a university environment
Experience working in a small team environment (5-10 staff)
Knowledge of WHS issues relevant to work activities and work area.
Knowledge of safe work procedures and WHS training relevant to work activities and work area.

$52,000 per annum + 10.5% Superannuation
