Salary range: £34,308 – £42,155 FTE (pro rata)

FTE: 0.5 (17.5 hours/week)

The School of Social Work and Social Policy is an interdisciplinary group of researchers and teachers in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. We carry out teaching in areas relating to Social Work, Social Policy, Education and Social Services, Child and Youth Care Studies, and Residential Child Care. We also undertake research and knowledge exchange in a range of areas, including Children, Young People and Families; Health and Wellbeing; Citizenship and Communities; and Social and Criminal Justice.

We wish to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Teaching Associate to contribute to the delivery of our programmes in Social Policy/Social Work/ Education and Social Services which are ranked as being amongst the best in the UK in the Good University Guide and Guardian league tables. We would be interested in applicants with a range of different specialisms, but in the first instance they would need sufficient knowledge to be able to contribute to general social policy/social work/education and social services teaching across a range of different classes. We have programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You should have a good honours degree and PhD in Social Policy/Social Work or a related discipline, and we may also consider candidates with significant policy or practice experience provided they also have experience of relevant teaching.
