The School of Medicine wishes to appoint a Lecturer (Education Focused) in the role of ‘Pro Dean of Medicine’. The role holder will lead and deliver pastoral support to early years UG and graduate entry students medicine students at the Faculty of Medicine (0.6 FTE) and teach clinical medicine in the School and on NHS sites (0.4 FTE).
Candidates should be clinically qualified with recent experience of practicing medicine and a core interest in supporting students through medical education; their fitness to study, ability to meet occupational health requirements and demonstration of professional behaviour to the expectations of the GMC. This role would suit a recently retired clinician. The post is not actively linked to clinical sessions and therefore no patient responsibility is required. However, the successful applicant should be on the GMC Register.
Excellent teaching skills and an interest in promoting knowledge exchange are essential.
