A new opportunity is currently available for two Software Engineers to join the Enterprise Applications team, providing expert technical knowledge for the effective development, integration, support, maintenance, and enhancement of the University’s Enterprise ICT applications and ICT projects.

What will you do?

Reporting to the Team Leader (Enterprise Applications), you will:

• In conjunction with other team members, provide technical analysis, design, coding and support services for the University’s .NET solutions including OMEGA, Student Feedback, CPMS, Accreditation Portal, RightNow, IMPS, SharePoint, Handbook, as well as various related student systems.
• Assist in the planning, design, development, testing, and implementation of new applications, and changes to existing applications;
• Document and implement programming standards and conventions, and design control procedures to ensure the application of best practice; and
• Assist in assessment of the impact of new technologies on existing applications and recommend solutions, quality standards, and best practices.

What will help you succeed?

Key to your success in this role will be your experience delivering analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, and documentation in support and maintenance of computer systems. Additionally, you will have:

• A degree with major studies in computing or a relevant discipline with subsequent relevant experience in application development, implementation, integration, and testing;
• Demonstrated knowledge of data and business analysis skills and the awareness of project management practices and methodologies;
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, consult, negotiate and provide authoritative information and advice;
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment; and
• High level analytical skills to generate viable options and develop solutions to diverse workplace issues.
• Experience in database management systems (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL), Object Oriented Programming and web application development.
• Experience in developing applications using .NET Framework and other Microsoft app development platforms.
• Experience in developing web applications with at least one of the following: PHP, Python, JavaScript / Typescript / JQuery, React, Vue or Angular, Bootstrap.
• Good knowledge of HTML and CSS.
• Good understanding of designing and developing well-crafted software using agile and lean approaches
• Experience with Agile/SCRUM and waterfall methodologies.
• Experience with git version control

Salary: Total remuneration range $95,365 to $103,284 pa (includes salary range of $80,578 to $87,270 pa, employer superannuation contributions of 17% of salary and annual leave loading)
