The Senior Career Educator provides high-level expert career counselling and education services to our students from diverse backgrounds and works collaboratively with Academic Program staff to develop high quality career education resources. The Senior Career Educator will deliver these services based at the UniSQ Toowoomba campus. As Senior Career Educator you will have the opportunity to use your passion for helping others realise their career goals and achieve their full potential as they transition into further study and employment.

Co-led by the Academic Registrar and the Dean (Students), the Students Portfolio is committed to enhancing the student experience and supporting the success of students. Through a range of support services, experiences and student-focused strategies, the Portfolio is involved in all phases of the student lifecycle, from application to graduation.

What you’ll do

• Provide best practice career counselling and career education services through face to-face and online modes for current and prospective students

• Empower others by providing high quality career education packages that are reflective of learning and teaching best practice

• Design and deliver programs and actively drive applied research and projects to contribute to scholarly publications and career development

• Proactively maintain currency of knowledge in career development, labour market trends, graduate recruitment and transition to employment

What will help you succeed

• A Degree with at least 4 years subsequent relevant experience or relevant experience and/or education/training

• Eligibility for and/or registration as a Career Professional with the Career Industry Council of Australia

• Demonstrated experience in providing career counselling and education services including conducting triage, career development initiatives, career assessment and appropriate interventions to people from diverse backgrounds

• Demonstrated experience in the design and delivery of career education program activities

• Demonstrated experience in organising and prioritising projects and tasks independently to achieve timely high quality work outcomes
