ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The Student Success division at the University of South Florida, is comprimesed of 61 departments, providing students with academic support, engagement opportunities, health & wellness services and enhancement of the educational experience.

The Office of Admissions is responsible for recruitment, admission, and enrollment of domestic and international and graduate students at the University of South Florida. Approximately 79,000 admission applications (39,000 freshman, 22,000 transfer, and 18,000 graduate) are processed and evaluated each year, augmented by academic credentials (e.g. high school and/or post-secondary transcripts, test scores, residency affidavits, etc.) for each applicant.

POSITION SUMMARY:
An Admissions Evaluator fulfills the administrative requirements to evaluate and process the applications and academic records of prospective students. This position determines if applicants meet established academic requirements, with the objective of making admissions decisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Evaluate and render decisions on student applications using established USF and SUS guidelines. Utilize decision grids, transfer admissions requirements, internal review guidelines, external program requirements, and Board of Governors regulations to determine final decision and/or need to refer to the academic colleges. Cancel incomplete applications if a final decision cannot be rendered.

Evaluate and process high school and post-secondary transcripts by entering information manually and reviewing electronic files for accuracy.

Update student applications to alternative semesters, majors, and campuses. Evaluate information regarding Florida residency.

Evaluate and process exam credit, advanced standing credit, SAT, ACT, English proficiency exams, and GED scores.

Contact students, high schools, and other post-secondary institutions and testing agencies as needed to verify information.

Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with one year of experience in office, administrative, or academic/student services support positions. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

PREFERRED:
Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Prior experience evaluating transcripts, experience with University admissions, or advising high school or undergraduate students is preferred.
