Talent Acquisition Specialist

SUMMARY:

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will collaborate with hiring managers in attraction, selection and hiring decisions using organizational knowledge combined with solid recruiting expertise. This role is responsible for developing and executing hiring plans and partnering closely with Managers, UR Talent Acquisition staff, and HR Business Partners to efficiently fill vacancies with internal and external talent, utilizing best practices in full life-cycle recruitment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Recruiting

• Actively participate and guide the recruitment process for each open position to include advertising and posting, candidate selection, interviewing, offer extension, and background checks
• Develop and implement talent acquisition strategies to achieve excellence in metrics focused on quality of hire, time to fill and diversity of applicant pools.
• Provide advice on Talent Acquisition to business partners and align strategies with the client unit goals.
• Maintain and analyze recruitment metrics to drive continuous improvement and to ensure the achievement of desired goals.
• Ensure recruiting and hiring practices follow EEO guidelines and regulations, ensure all transactions in the recruitment process are in compliance with UR policies and practices.
• Provide support to hiring managers and HR Business Partners to ensure proper development of recruitment skills and competencies, i.e. interview techniques, applicable employment laws, etc.
• Function as a super user of the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and integrate technology resources into all appropriate TAS processes, procedures, and relationship management. Coach hiring managers on using the system to more efficiently and effectively implement hiring practices.
• Develop tools and techniques to assist the organization in meeting staffing and placement needs.
• Finalize content for job postings and advertisements in coordination with hiring managers.
• Work with the Compensation Specialist to address classification and pay related recruiting issues.
• Support the policies, procedures, services, improvement targets, and metrics of Human Resources.

Sourcing

• Using a variety of strategies, including networking, social media, employee referrals, job fairs, etc. develop and nurture potential candidates for positions throughout the University.

Onboarding and Career Services

• Partner with HR colleagues to ensure new employees are successfully added to our employment systems in order to receive proper pre-employment communication and onboarding materials
• Provide career counseling, coaching, and tools to employees through our Career Services program

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must possess excellent oral/written communication, marketing, presentation, interviewing and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of various recruiting techniques, and experience in online/social media recruiting.
• Knowledge of selection and staffing strategies, programs, and hiring tools
• Relevant industry knowledge
• Ability to thrive in high-volume, fast-paced work environment
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with internal customers
• Ability to work independently under general supervision
• Proven ability to communicate and effectively “sell” an organization’s value proposition
• Microsoft Office proficiency

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or at least 3 years equivalent work experience
• Minimum 2 years of recruitment experience
• Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems
• Higher ed experience preferred

WORK HOURS:

• Full-time, exempt position
• Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; 7.75 hrs./day; 38.75 hrs./week

SALARY STRUCTURE:
Pay Grade 6 (Hiring Range $44,775.00 to $59,325.00 annually)
