University of Oxford TSS Hiring for Teaching Officer Job at Oxford, England Full Time

Vacancy ID 9752: We are currently recruiting for a Temporary Teaching Officer to support one of our central University departments for 12 weeks in the first instance. The role can be full-time of part-time (22.5 or 36.5 hrs p/w) at £12.04 per hour.

Responsibilities:

• Supporting the Undergraduate Officer and the Graduate Officer in the maintenance of handbooks, course descriptions and reading lists, liaising with contributors to ensure details are up to date and correctly formatted;

• Maintaining combined records of undergraduate and graduate examining and marking undertaken by academic postholders over several years (‘examining burdens’);

• Maintaining annual academic workload survey data, in liaison with the HAF, and in conjunction with the examining burdens information, to support the co-ordination of information about teaching capacity and workloads demands across the Faculty;

• Assisting the Graduate Officer with administrative and organisational arrangements for the provision of graduate research and vocational training;

• Administering the Preparation for Learning and Teaching at Oxford (PLTO) scheme for graduate students; this will involve working closely with and supporting the academic officer responsible for co-ordination of the scheme, including the organisation and running of PLTO events;

• Maintaining the Faculty’s undergraduate tutorial register (a list of Faculty members and graduate students approved to give tutorials on particular papers); publishing the register on WebLearn;

• Overseeing the production of the termly Lecture List;

• Compiling lists of incoming graduate students requiring language tuition.
