We are currently recruiting for a Temporary Education Support Assistant & Receptionist for a centrally based Oxford University Department. The assignment would last 12 weeks in the first instance, working 36.5 hrs p/w. Hourly rate is £13.50 p/h.
Duties include:
Student Support
- Working within the Education Support Team, providing administrative support to the Education Manager in aspects of graduate and undergraduate work
- Acting as initial point of contact for students and members of teaching staff.
- Prepare and monitor the online sign-up for departmentally-organised classes and events and confirming attendees to class leaders.
- Assisting with the transfer of materials from WebLearn to Sharepoint, and helping to set-up Sharepoint sites.
- Performing general administrative tasks, e.g. maintaining filing systems and archives, making room bookings, arranging catering for meetings and events.
Reception (up to 0.2 FTE)
- Being the first point of contact for visitors to the Department, as well as answering general queries from staff and students in person, on the phone and by email. Respond to enquiries to the departmental email inbox.
- Greeting visitors when they arrive, ensuring that their host is aware of their arrival, and, if contractors, liaising with the facilities team and issuing with passes if needed.
- Receiving the incoming mail – both from the Royal Mail and also internally – sorting the items and placing items in the correct ground floor pigeon holes. If items are bulky or of high value, informing recipients that they have arrived and ensuring their safe keeping until they are retrieved.
