You will be look after your own designated vacancies, from the initial advertising stage through to preparing interview packs, offer letters, carrying out pre-employment checks and issuing contracts. You will also carry out induction sessions for new starters and you will undertake the related new starter and payroll paperwork, using the University’s HR and payroll system. This will involve liaising with line managers, candidates and other departments within the University, such as payroll and the Adverts Team. You will also be involved in general HR administration tasks within the wider HR Team.
It is essential that you have proven administrative, planning and organisational skills in order to meet recruitment and payroll deadlines and to ensure that the recruitment process operates in a smooth and timely manner. You will also require good attention to detail, numeracy, accuracy, good customer care and IT skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team and on your own. Previous experience of working in a HR team and with HR databases – particularly PeopleXD (previously CoreHR) is desirable.
