We are seeking an HR Assistant to join the Department of Physics HR Team on a permanent basis. The Department of Physics at Oxford University is one of the largest and most highly respected of its kind and the HR function is an essential part of the overall administration for over 500 academics, researchers, technicians and support staff.
This post is full time but we will consider part time hours at 80%. This role also has the potential for some remote working.
As a key point of contact for the team you will respond to enquiries and provide advice in person as well as by phone and email. The role spans various aspects of HR administration to include but not limited to, payroll processing, casual payroll, issuing contracts and amendment letters and the recruitment process.
You will be part of a busy but friendly and supportive team, and will work alongside another HR Assistant to provide comprehensive generalist HR administration support to the Department in a professional and timely manner.
The ideal candidate will be a confident team player who is able to demonstrate solid HR administration experience and able to build good working relationships with staff at all levels. You will be organised, pro-active, be able to use your own initiative and comfortable with juggling several demanding and changing priorities.
