We are seeking to appoint an outstanding administrator to join our dynamic Academic Programmes Team.
The Department of Education has approximately 700 postgraduate students and normally admits around 400 new students every year.
The Academic Programmes Team works closely with the academic staff to provide high quality, academic-related support services to the Department’s graduate student community from admission through to graduation. This role will provide administrative support primarily for the PGCE programme on various aspects of admissions, examinations, course administration and web support. You will be part of a small, friendly team in a busy office, and an important point of contact for applicants, students and staff.
An ideal candidate would be able to make decisions and solve problems under pressure in a calm and efficient manner, and use diplomacy and tact in busy and difficult situations. They will also have strong communication skills, good instincts for exercising discretion where appropriate, and a friendly, helpful attitude to provide students and colleagues with an excellent level of administrative support. They will have the ability to work independently and a willingness to resolve situations. They would have experience of using major IT packages such as Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel and desire and ability to learn new ones (training will be provided).
