The Division of Undergraduate Education and Student Success (UESS)
promotes academic excellence, universal access, engagement, and
achievement for the student scholar. UESS programs focus on the
educational trajectory of the student by providing opportunities
and services essential for progress toward scholastic objectives
and intellectual development. UESS departments and programs serve
the entire population of UO undergraduate students and partner
closely with other campus units to support student success and
engagement.
The Accessible Education Center (AEC) facilitates and supports
access and inclusion for students with disabilities. The AEC
coordinates services, determines student accommodations, provides
advocacy and collaborates with students, faculty, staff, and the
community to create and sustain accessible physical, curricular,
and informational environments.
Position Summary
The Accommodation Programs Assistant assists the Accommodation
Programs Manager in the overall implementation of AEC
accommodations program and serves an important role in developing
operational goals and assisting with program direction. This
position facilitates the accommodated testing and notetaking
processes provided by the University as reasonable accommodations
under the law. This includes reviewing and processing student
requests, creating schedules, ensuring exam security, tracking
large amounts of information, entering information into a database,
and scheduling notetakers, space, proctors, and other
assistants.
This position is supervised by the Accommodation Programs Manager
and requires high levels of sensitivity and cultural awareness, the
ability to work effectively under pressure, and to work
independently. Regular interactions occur with students, faculty,
staff, and university partners. The Accommodation Program Assistant
must be able to maintain confidentiality, demonstrate sound
professional judgment, stay calm under pressure, respond to urgent
situations, exercise creative problem solving, and work well as
part of the Accessible Education Center team.

FLSA Exempt: No
