An exciting new role has become available within the fast paced Off Campus Student Affairs (OCSA) Department as this area looks to expand and improve delivery.
There is a strong focus on overseeing all of the departmental administration needs. However, this post also requires the successful candidate to undertake a hands-on approach in actively assisting with some of the community based delivery of projects and initiatives. This role will suit a candidate that enjoys a varied and dynamic working environment and therefore requires someone with a can-do and positive approach to their work.
The OCSA department forms part of the ‘Student and Campus Life’ division which is the group of professional services that supports students during their time at University. It will be essential to build strong internal working relationships across the division and with wider university services.
The OCSA team represents the University to the wider community and is the main contact point for all student related conduct issues that arise in communities close to our UK campuses. The successful candidate will be responding to questions, comments and concerns from students, the general public and other key local stakeholders such as the Local Authority, Police, Students’ Union and any other interested organisation. This role is suited to someone that has strong interpersonal skills, is a good communicator and has the resilience to deal with often very challenging, sensitive and demanding situations.
The OCSA department is currently a small team of dedicated staff that have a large remit to deal with a wide and constantly changing area of responsibility. At peak times the workload is high and delivery is intense. It is essential that the successful candidate can work independently, be highly organised, work with initiative and prioritise to ensure the department can effectively deliver its objectives and respond to new issues.
Due to the nature of the role it will primarily be based in the office at the Kings Meadow Campus (Lenton Lane, Nottingham) with some work out in the community and therefore limited opportunity to work from home.
This role is available on a permanent basis. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours).
