We are looking to appoint an Admissions Officer to join the University of Nottingham Admissions Office and support in providing a first-class service throughout the recruitment and admissions cycle.
As an Admissions Officer, you will undertake decision making on applications for a number of schools based on agreed entry criteria. You will work closely with key internal stakeholders such as academic faculties and student service colleagues. The Admissions Officer will determine and process recommendations and decisions on large numbers of applications and follow current policies, ensuring these decisions are consistent and accurate. There will also be regular opportunities to contribute to the development of open and transparent application and admissions processes, reviewing procedures and contributing to the development of admissions systems.
As the successful candidate, you should be a motivated individual with experience in providing outstanding customer service. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to liaise with staff of differing levels across the University. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills to engage with applicants and other external stakeholders. You will be a team player and be able to manage a varied and demanding workload, proactively working under pressure to meet deadlines, as well as working under minimal supervision. You will have knowledge of relevant legislation including GDPR and experience of dealing with highly sensitive and confidential information, and good IT skills.
This role are based in the Student Recruitment team at the King’s Meadow Campus. The Student Recruitment Team includes Admissions, Student Recruitment Support Hub, International Student Recruitment and Widening Participation and Outreach.
Please note due to the operational requirements of the admissions office it is not possible to take annual leave during A level and GCSE results time, this is usually for two weeks in August.
The department supports hybrid working with arrangements agreed locally. In practice this means the team balances the working week with some time spent on campus and some time spent working from home to support flexibility, recognising that individuals and teams can be effective across different working environments.
We particularly welcome applications from staff with protected characteristics, such as BAME, disabled and LGBT+ communities in both academic and professional services roles. We also encourage staff who are under-represented in their professional field e.g. for reasons such as gender, to apply.
The post is offered on a permanent, full time (36.25 hours per week) contract. Job share arrangements may be considered.
Informal enquiries may be addressed to Helen Lambourne, email HELEN.LAMBOURNE@NOTTINGHAM.AC.UK. Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.
