The University of Nottingham is excited to invite applications for the role of Accounting Assistant within the Financial Control Department. The Financial Control Team is responsible for the month and year end consolidated accounts, subsidiaries, balance sheet and fixed assets, treasury, statutory and regulated reporting among many other functions.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, pro-active individual with an attention to detail. Demonstrating excellent time management skills, you will be required to provide information to colleagues and stakeholders for reporting deadlines and carrying out balance sheet reconciliations for risk management. Being AAT qualified or having substantial experience in an accounting environment you will demonstrate an understanding of the key accounting principles and apply them to the role.
Key tasks for the role holder include assisting in the preparation of budgets, forecasts and year-end financial statements, assisting with drafting monthly management accounts, updating the finance system with any amendments to variances and liaising with colleagues and stakeholders to provide financial and business services.
As part of your role and progression there will be opportunities to further your knowledge through professional training either by way of an apprenticeship or through support from the University of Nottingham as an accredited employer with AAT and ACCA. There will also be opportunities to get involved in projects across the wider Finance Department.
This is a full-time (36.25 hours), permanent post. Job share arrangements would be considered.
Informal enquiries may be addressed to [email protected]. Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.
