Primary Purpose Of Organizational Unit

The Department of Public Policy at UNC is an interdisciplinary social science major that confers the B.A., MPP , and Ph.D. degree (http://publicpolicy.unc.edu/). The core curriculum includes exposure to multiple disciplinary fields, including economics, political science, policy analysis, philosophy, research methods and statistics. Our dynamic faculty are award winning teachers and researchers with domestic and global policy interests.

Position Summary

The Department of Public Policy in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a Teaching Assistant Professor for the 2024-2025 Academic Year. This is a one-year fixed term position that requires teaching 3 courses per semester. The successful candidate must be prepared to teach core classes in our undergraduate major, including some combination of courses in public policy analysis, the politics of public policy, and normative dimensions of public policy (e.g., Justice in Public Policy). The faculty member could also be a co-instructor in the Public Policy capstone course. The successful candidate must have a PhD, or be ABD , in Public Policy or a related social science field by the time of appointment. Evidence of teaching experience and skills are necessary for consideration.
