The Teachers and Teaching Research Centre (TTRC) drives improvement in the quality of teaching and student outcomes in all educational contexts and particularly where inequities exist. The TTRC aims to promote teacher efficacy, morale and professional engagement through research activities that explore the nature and impact of teacher professional development. Our researchers lead the way in translation of research findings to address issues at the forefront of national and international educational policy agendas.

As the financial specialist within the team, you will be lead project budgeting, monitoring, reporting and continuous improvement of ‘inhouse’ systems and processes to best support the needs of researchers and funding partners.

This is a fixed term position based at the Callaghan Campus and is available until February 2022.

How will you inspire us?

You will have an in depth understanding of budgeting and forecasting and experience with expenditure tracking. You will also be responsible for invoicing, purchasing, coordinating requests-for-quotes and reporting.

Previous work in a university or commercial entity would be ideal, as would experience working across multiple projects with many stakeholders.

You will be a capable communicator, who encourages feedback from your stakeholders.

You must be comfortable working in a high-volume environment with competing demands.

Your ability to self-manage, make confident judicious decisions and provide accurate advice will assist success in this role.

• A statement addressing the Essential Criteria listed in the Position Description:

• A degree in business, accounting or other relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
• Detailed knowledge of academic and administrative policies within the university sector or equivalent, and the interrelationships between a range of policies and activities.

It is desirable that the successful candidate also possess the following:

• Experience with Technology One (Research Financial System, and XLOne reports) or an equivalent financial system such as SAP.
• Financial research support experience in the Higher Education Sector.
• Experience with research commercialisation and business development.
