Why Your Role Matters:

You will bring your understanding of financial controls and expertise in accounting processes to the Accounts Receivable Team to assist in the collection and debt management for research, contract, and other operational revenue at the University.

As Account Receivable Officer, you will be managing the day-day complexities of receivable services in the sponsored student debt process through the collection of cash, management of debtors and the implementation of efficient billing processes. You will be providing a crucial and quality service to University customers by answering and resolving their queries as well as providing expert technical assistance to ensure the efficient and proper completion of accounts receivable procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Managing day to day duties debt management and collection, revenue receipting, reconciliation, and processing credit notes in your area.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant policy, procedure and best practice.
• Liaising with a wide variety of stakeholders, to provide technical assistance and assist with queries.

Who You Are:

• Hold a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline coupled with prior work experience and demonstrated success in the Accounts Receivable function within a large and complex corporate environment.
• Demonstrated understanding of financial controls, accounting processes and experience in applying policy and guidelines
• Experience in managing customer expectations and appropriately responding to customer needs.
• Attention to detail and ability to deliver results in line with required deadlines and quality parameters.

Desirable skills:

• Working knowledge of computer applications and experience in enterprise financial systems (e.g. PeopleSoft)
• Knowledge of sponsored student debt processes
• Progressing towards a CA or CPA qualification.
