Position Summary

The Social Sciences Division at UNM-Valencia is in need of hiring a Temporary Part-Time Faculty member to teach EDUC courses, either online or face-to-face, for Spring 2022, Summer 2022, and Fall 2022. The position is contingent upon the need of the aforementioned specified semesters as determined by student enrollment levels and current course offering. The position may be filled or eliminated each semester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses.

Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia county, the University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of the University of New Mexico which functions as a community college in the region and is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution. With an emphasis on teaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs, technical vocational programs, Adult Basic Education, and Dual Credit High School/College courses to Valencia and Socorro Counties. The faculty and staff serve a student body of over 2,000 credit students per semester.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
A Master’s Degree in Education

One year teaching experience in a post-secondary institution

Preferred Qualifications:
An advanced degree of Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Teaching, Learning, & Teacher Education.

One year teaching experience at a high school level

One year teaching experience in a community college

One year teaching experience in Canvas

Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
