About People and Culture
The People & Culture (P&C) Directorate provides a range of services across the University such as Recruitment; Workplace Relations; Health and Safety; Payroll, Benefits, and Support; Organisational Development; and Workforce Planning and Change Management. About the role
The Deputy Director reports to the Director, People and Culture and is a critical leadership role within the People & Culture Directorate. The Deputy Director supports the Director in the management and coordination of Talent Acquisition, Casual Management Workforce Unit, HR Services function and Strategic Workforce Planning and Analytics. The Deputy Director will play an important role in the UNE Workforce Strategy and Analytics.
The Deputy Director has the responsibility for strengthening the UNE’s shared services capability, through the design and development of policies, procedures and governance frameworks. The role will require a more strategic approach to driving increased performance and efficiency to enable a stronger client centric service culture.

About you*
The successful applicant will have a relevant degree an extensive background in Human Resource management. They will be up to date with current trends and legislation in relation to Human Resources in the higher education sector. Experience in leading, managing and coordinating a broad range of human resource functions is essential, along with demonstrated knowledge and experience in driving continuous improvement processes, systems and work practices.
High level interpersonal and communication and negotiation skills are essential, as well as high level analytical and conceptual skills.
