Essential Job Duties

The Department of English and World Languages at the University of Montevallo, a public liberal arts university near Birmingham, Alabama, invites applications for a nine-month, full-time tenure-track position: Assistant Professor of African American Literature with an emphasis on African American Studies, beginning August 2023. Primary responsibilities include teaching classes within the African American Studies Minor, teaching general education and upper-level courses for both English majors and non-majors, participating in departmental and university-wide committee service, and conducting ongoing academic research.
