About The Role

As Project Manager within the Office of the Provost, you’ll collaborate with the team to plan, manage, and deliver strategic projects. Your primary focus will be on student experience initiatives as part of the Advancing Students and Education (ASE) Strategy at the University of Melbourne.

The ASE strategy aims to enhance education and student experience through curriculum improvements, innovative teaching and learning practices, advanced learning technologies and spaces, student well-being, amplifying student voice, enhancing support services, and promoting inclusivity.

Your responsibilities will encompass overseeing the Student Wellbeing, and Data and Analytics projects. This involves leading project planning, developing materials, and managing all project aspects. You’ll become a subject-matter expert in the relevant areas, ensuring successful project execution.

Your work/projects will contribute to:

• Ensuring the University and our staff support students’ development of well-being and mental health knowledge and skills
• Offering enhanced mental health services and addressing common barriers to improve students’ access to mental health services
• Promoting and supporting sport, culture, and co-curricular activities that enhance students’ wellbeing
• Making better use of our data, including academic and learning analytics, to understand and predict areas where students require support
• Developing a process for surfacing and sharing performance indicators and ensuring the impact of feedback is clear to those who provide it

Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking an experienced project manager who embodies professionalism, maturity, and initiative in project management. Your track record includes successfully leading strategic-level projects within complex higher education or public policy environments. Your passion lies in evidence-based, data-driven approaches. Your excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills enable you to adapt to various purposes, formats, audiences, and styles. Join us as we pursue impactful and dynamic projects together.

You will also have:

• A relevant tertiary qualification.
• Expertise in stakeholder management and relationship-building to achieve organisational objectives, including listening, engaging, analysing, adapting, and problem-solving.
• Strong organisational skills to effectively plan, prioritize, and manage multiple workstreams and activities, both responsive and long-term.
• Ability to critically evaluate information from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, synthesize data, and quickly become a subject matter expert within a given area of responsibility.
