About The Role
ing to the Senior Coordinator, International Research Training Groups (IRTG), you will be responsible for providing support to joint PhD candidates and the coordination of International Research Training Groups (IRTGs) at the University of Melbourne.
You will be responsible for supporting IRTG graduate researchers through their research training experience to best leverage their international partnership experience. You will also provide support to IRTG supervisors, academic leads, and Advisory Boards and support the work of the broader Graduate Research team and contribute to the team’s values, culture, and priorities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting joint Ph.D. candidates through the joint admission, enrolment, and candidature procedures at Melbourne and the IRTGs’ partners.
- Supporting IRTG supervisors, academics leads, and Advisory Boards
- Fostering positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support IRTG candidates, supervisors, academic leads, and Advisory Boards effectively and efficiently.
Who We Are Looking For
We’re seeking professionals with a high level of enthusiasm, flexibility, self-motivation, and initiative. You will enjoy working independently as well as cooperatively as part of a team. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be paramount in engaging and working with multiple and diverse stakeholders across the university.
You will also have:
- Degree-level qualification with subsequent relevant work-related experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
- Demonstrable problem-solving skills with the ability to deliver creative solutions and negotiate outcomes.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills, including the ability to establish professional service delivery standards with the ability to review, develop and implement administrative processes.
- Demonstrable understanding of the academic and personal issues facing Graduate Researchers and established knowledge of academic and student administration procedures, policies, and systems as they relate to graduate research.

This position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check to ensure the University provides a safe environment for everyone.
