About the Role

The Finance Manager, with direction from the Director of Operations, is responsible for financial management, financial reporting and business support, across a range of operational and project activities to ensure the ongoing organisational financial sustainability of Asialink. You will be involved in planning processes and have specific responsibility and a high degree of autonomy in managing budgets, finance reporting and administrative operations.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting the processing of day-to-day financial transactions for the organisation, working in conjunction with University Financial & Commercial Services
• Preparing and presenting accurate, timely and comprehensible monthly financial reports comparing financial performance to budget and forecast for all business units of the Asialink Group.
• Analysing and assessing financial performance, highlighting risks, opportunities and recommending actions where necessary
• Leading the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasting in consultation with the Executive Managers and Director of Operations

Asialink operates a substantial number of grants from government departments, corporate bodies and philanthropic sources. This position is therefore responsible for managing the requirements of diverse sources of income and expenditure. A broad-ranging financial knowledge is therefore essential to the role.

About You

You will display a high level of discretion, independent judgment and professionalism whilst regularly interacting with internal and external stakeholders. You are expected to exercise a high level of confidentiality whilst undertaking several concurrent tasks demonstrating excellent organisational, prioritisation and time management skills which are critical to this position.

You will also have:

• Fully qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA); or
• Graduate or postgraduate qualifications in Finance, Accounting or other relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of tertiary qualifications and relevant experience
• Demonstrated experience in budget modelling and forecasting with a sophisticated understanding of, and the ability to analyse and interpret a wide range of financial information
• High level of attention to detail, advanced analytical skills and ability to work in complex and faced paced environments
• Demonstrated ability to generate timely customised reports for management on budget, actual and forecast, including experience in data extraction from enterprise platforms
