At UM Capital Region Health – Located in Largo in the heart of Prince George’s County, our new state-of-the-art regional medical center (UM Capital Region Medical Center) will provide improved access to primary and ambulatory care services, and serve as a tertiary care center for critically ill patients. In addition, our new space will allow us to expand our offerings as a community partner to help improve the health status of Prince George’s County residents.

Job Description

As a Rehab Aide you will provide supportive services to professional staff in Physical, Occupational, Speech and Recreational Therapies including transportation of patients, clerical and cleaning duties, direct assistance to therapists in patient treatment; and adhering to the policies and procedures of the hospital and Department of Physical Medicine.

• Properly position or repositions a patient in bed, wheelchair.
• Sets-up supplies needed for splinting, bracing, casting and assist by positioning and holding extremities.
• Performs sterile techniques appropriately.
• Assists in measuring a patient for a cane, crutches or walker.
• Sets-up and monitor patients during PRE exercises using weights, Thera putty, and TheraBand.
• Performs PROM and A-AROM exercises to upper and lower extremities, with supervision.
• Monitors and assists patients performing self ROM and AROM exercises to upper and lower extremities.
• Assists with performing whirlpool treatment with supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is preferred
• Entry Level position – no work experience is required
• Preferred: 1 – 3 years of experience
