The Role
The post holder will have responsibility for cataloguing and classifying material in the designated area.
To be successful in this role you must have previous experience cataloguing and classifying library resources in a MARC21 environment. Good knowledge and understanding of MARC21, RDA, LCC and LCSH are essential. Knowledge of legacy standards and other classification or subject indexing schemes would be an advantage. You will need a methodical approach to work, excellent attention to detail and have the ability to acquire new skills and apply them effectively. Good interpersonal skills, the ability to perform well in a team and knowledge or fluency in in one of the main collection languages of Senate House Library are essential. Knowledge for fluency in German would be an advantage.

The University currently operates a Hybrid Working framework involving a mix of working from remotely and in the office. Typically the majority of employees will be able to agree to work remotely for up to 60% of their working week, role dependent, however will be required to attend on specific days for training or team meetings.
