The Role

The University of London Worldwide is responsible for the development and delivery of our distance learning programmes and is seeking to appoint one permanent Academic Services Manager as well as a maternity cover post (12 months) to join the Online Education Directorate.

You will be a confident and charismatic professional who can successfully manage the relationships with key personnel at our Member Institution partners. With oversight of a portfolio, you will gain keen insights into how various academic programmes are performing; and be able to work with the programme teams to ensure these programmes are functioning well and meeting their potential so as to ensure a high quality student experience.

A good communicator, you will be able to facilitate between both academic and operational teams and be able to work with colleagues to resolve any issues swiftly and efficiently. You will be proactive and be able to consider the wider implications and risks of decisions that might impact programmes in your portfolio.

With a good understanding of the importance of quality assurance, you will draft and publish key programme documentation (for example, Programme Regulations, Annual Programme Reports) and be aware of how current and developing issues in Higher Education, such as the OfS Conditions of Registration and the QAA’s UK Quality Code, impact programme policies.

Working in an established team, you will be provided with support but must also be able to manage your own portfolio independently and be prepared to be involved in/lead mini projects to scope out new activities to improve performance. This will also feed into work relating to the design and development of new programmes and products.

The University currently operates a Hybrid Working framework involving a mix of working remotely and in the office.
