University of Leicester Hiring for Distance Learning Student Support Officer Job at Leicester, England Full Time

You will work within the Distance Learning Team to provide an excellent service to staff and distance learning students from registration through to graduation, across a range of programmes and Schools. The DL Team is responsible for supporting over 60 programmes offered across academic School in the Colleges of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities; Life Sciences; and Science and Engineering.

The team provides a first point of contact service to approximately 4,000 students. The DL Student Support Officers work across this portfolio and carry out all of the administrative activities associated with the end-to-end student journey, under the day-to-day supervision of the DL Team Leaders.

You will be highly customer focussed with the ability to provide accurate and timely advice and guidance on a range of queries including study information, pastoral care, regulations and tuition fees. You will be highly organised and understand and embed the importance of customer service and records management into your day-to-day role.

You will have the ability to cope with intermittent and varied workloads and to prioritise tasks, to cope calmly with frequent interruptions that inevitably arise at certain periods and the capability to work flexibly as part of a busy team in a University environment.

In addition, the role requires interaction with many people within and external to the University thus a professional attitude, willingness to help and ‘can do’ approach are required in order to effectively execute the duties outlined.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate an understanding of distance learning / online learning and have worked in a comparable setting or be able to demonstrate transferable skills. You will have strong IT, written and verbal skills.
